Volunteer
Make a Difference!
Food Connect Colorado could not function without our great volunteers. Volunteering will help you give back directly to help people in need. We hold a free food market every Thursday from 10 am-5:30 pm at our warehouse in Aurora. Every week, with the help of our valued volunteers, we stock our market with fresh produce, dairy, dry groceries, and bread and distribute it to people in our community. We have a variety of opportunities for volunteers including:
- Market Prep: Help us get ready to open the market. Tasks include stocking and reorganizing shelves, cleaning fixtures, breaking down and recycling boxes, and sorting donations. Must be able to bend, reach, and lift up to 20 pounds. Please wear closed-toe shoes.
- Heavy Lifting: Must be able to lift 50 pounds and up. Please wear closed-toe shoes.
- Shopper Assistant: Guide people while they shop in the free food market. Explain limits, physically assist seniors and the disabled.
- Shopper Assistant/Spanish: Assist Spanish-speaking shoppers in the free food market. Translate for intake if needed. Must speak fluent Spanish and English.
- Stock/Load: Monitor inventory and stock market as needed. Assist shoppers with packing groceries and loading their car. Assist homeless shoppers. Must be able to bend, reach, and lift up to 20 pounds. Please wear closed-toe shoes.
Court-mandated volunteers are welcome, as are teens 15-17. Click the button below to go to our SignUp site and sign up for a shift.
